Bob Brown arrested over logging protest

FORMER Greens leader Bob Brown will face court in March over his role in a logging protest in north-west Tasmania.

Mr Brown was arrested on Monday after he joined the protest against logging operations in Lapoinya Forest.

He was charged under new Tasmanian anti-workplace protest laws after refusing to leave the logging site at the direction of police.

Mr Brown served 19 days in jail for protesting against the Franklin River Dam in the early 1980s.
