WHO is the mysterious Bouquet Bandit?

That is the question on everyone's lips, with bright brunches of flowers being given out randomly in Maryborough.

Hervey Bay resident Wendy Dwan seems to be doing the bandit's dirty work, handing out the bouquets to unsuspecting recipients, but she denied knowing the identity of the flower-wielding outlaw.

Attempts were made to contact Wendy for comment yesterday but, just like the bandit, she proved elusive.

The Bouquet Bandit has created their own Facebook page, with photos of the beautiful floral arrangements that have been given to residents.

According to the Bandit's Facebook page, at least three bouquets have been handed out so far.

Posts made by Wendy to the Bandit's Facebook page hinted at a possible motivation behind the decision to start randomly handing out bouquets.

"Hoping to spread a smile or two," Wendy wrote.
