WARWICK is the word on everyone's lips in Gympie today as the fallout from Jumpergate continues.

What started as a simple message to 'find your own festival' has ignited into a mini war of words between Warwick and Gympie.

While Warwick residents don't seem to frazzled by the issue, there's been an emotive response from Gympie-ites.

So what did they have to say in response?

Well some of the comments from Gympie locals described us "whingers", "petty" and the "fun police".

Kay Kerr wrote "Ours was hardly a festival. Get over it Warwick. Our trees like to dress up too!"

Madonna Lyden-Hendry wrote "Lots of communities have done it, Warwick doesn't 'own' this idea... Well done Gympie"   "I have just come back from warwick and you have a long way to catch up with warwick.& theres is a week long," Ellen Wedlock wrote.   Leigh Willson wrote "Who invited the Fun Police from Warwick anyway??? Great job both towns!!!"

Looks like Warwick is upset with Gympie 'stealing' their festival idea with Winter Trees on Mary! What do you think,...

Out of the flames came some bright ideas as well, with some Daily News and Gympie Times readers suggesting the two towns could work together and that there was plenty of room for the two festivals to co-exist.

Libby English wrote " If anyone had a clue this would or could be used as a great marketing idea.

"Have a trail of towns between the two places and run it over a week end where people can drive (advertise accommodation along the way) and have a prize for the best decorated tree?"   " Start in Gympie with a big celebration and end in Warick with the same? In this way both towns benefit and so do smaller places in between??"

Go find your own festival! That's the message from Jumpers and Jazz organisers to the organisers of a copy-cat festival...

So what do you think?

Should we be flattered Gympie is copying us?
