Woman's body found in car after kids sound horn

POLICE in Adelaide have charged a man with murder after a woman's lifeless body was found in a car by her children.

Police said they had arrested and charged a man with the murder of a woman on Sunday at Hackham West, south of the city of churches.

"The 34-year-old man from Hackham West who was known to the victim, was arrested by Detectives just after 10pm last night.

"The arrested man was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today.

"South Coast CIB Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident, after the body of a 27-year-old woman was found yesterday morning in a car outside her Blueridge Road home.

A neighbour has told The Advertiser she heard "bloodcurdling screams" at 4am.

She said she had discovered the woman's body after the dead woman's young sons, aged about seven and two-and-a-half, had sounded the car horn.

She had heard arguing between the couple throughout the night and on one occasion, had asked them to quieten down.

Police said they were treating the death as suspicious and investigating the possibility it was the result of a domestic dispute.
